Missing Southwold Weekends
We have had a bit of an issue in Southwold. Whilst we were away on the other side of the world, we had a mains cold water pipe burst in the loft, and it was almost two weeks before this was discovered and the water was turned off. As you can imagine, this caused more than a little damage! In short, everything in the bedrooms and hallway has been written off - including the ceilings - and needs to be repaired and replaced. But first, the house needs to be dried out and everything removed, and then we need to agree with the insurance company on what needs to be done.
The bottom line is that this means we are not able to go up and spend much time in Southwold - typically going up for a day to meet contractors or the insurance company or going to see what we can do about cleaning things up.
However, we have managed a couple of overnight stays - sleeping on the sofa bed in the conservatory.
We are missing going up for a normal weekend, but at least we have been able to get there a bit.
