Rainham Marshes
Inspired by Springwatch being back on the TV, we went to Rainham Marshes RSPB reserve. Even before we had reached the first hide, we first heard and then saw a reed warbler, and then saw a redwing. At first, there did not appear to be much to see at the first hide, but after a while we managed to see another reed warbler, and then a swan with five cygnets. As we walked on, we saw a number of reed buntings, and then what I believe to be a redshank sitting on a post - annoyingly just behind a wire.
