A trip to Minsmere to try out my new lens
For Christmas, I got a new lens for my camera - a 500mm lens to try and get up close to wildlife. Wanting to try it out, we spent a day at Minsmere. We started on the Scrape, which had lots of birds, but mainly teal and pochard, and generally a little too far away to get good shots. I therefore started with a magpie. However, as we moved on to Island Mere (via the South and Bittern hides), we got a good look at a bittern which was a good test for my focusing skills, and finished off with a distant march harrier.
