Le Tour de France
Today the Tour de France arrived (very briefly) in Chelmsford, on the last of three days in the UK on the leg from Cambridge to London. With Dom having left at 2.30 in the morning to go on a school trip to Berlin, Teresa, Rachel and I set off to walk the 2 1/2 miles to sit on the side of the road to watch is pass. The Caravan - the vehicles making up the advance party and throwing some goodies to the waiting spectators - passed through about two hours before the riders. When they came, there were two riders out front (who were caught well before the finish), and then all the rest of the 200 or so riders came through filling the road. And then they were gone.
