World War II comes to Audley End
As life members of English Heritage, not only can we get into their properties and sites for free, but we are also able to get into their special events at no additional charge. Therefore, as the weather had been too windy for me to fly (I did have one flight, but it was not very pleasant, and landing was a bit difficult), we decided to spend the afternoon at Audley End where they had a World War II day. In the Second World War, Audley End was a training camp for Polish soldiers. Today, they had some soldiers and their weapons recreating some drills in the grounds – perhaps as they did in the 1940s.
