Silverstone Classic
For my combined Christmas and Birthday presents, Rachel and Dom had got me (and Dom) tickets for the Silverstone Classic.
The original plan was to get up very early on the Saturday morning and drive to Silverstone. However, I needed to be in Cambridge on the Friday, so Dom had a day looking round the city and we went off late in the afternoon to stay at a hotel near Silverstone. It meant that we were able to have a slightly later start to the day on Saturday - although it was still early and we were among the first punters there.
Neither of us knew exactly what to expect. The answer was lots of cars (and a few bikes) of different ages and different types racing around the circuit. In many cases, the racing may not have been quite as aggressive as at a modern event (the cars are less replaceable), but there were generally lots of cars on the track at the same time, and most wanted to try to overtake.
